Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Training and Development
Mersey Psychotherapies are proud to announce the continued provision of EMDR Liverpool based training.
This training programme continues to be delivered by Dr Derek Farrell, a European Approved EMDR Trainer & European Accredited Consultant and Supervisor.
Dr Farrell is a past President of EMDR UK & Ireland and is currently the President of HAP Europe.
This training was the first of its kind to take place in Merseyside.
Eligibility for EMDR Training
In order to train as an EMDR Therapist, it is a requirement that the person is a trained mental health professional and is an accredited (or actively working towards becoming accredited) member of a professional body (Eg. BPS and HPC, GMC (Psychiatrists), BABCP, BACP, UKCP, IACP, NMC (Mental Health Trained Nurses).
All applicants will be expected to provide details of their professional body, membership number/PIN number.
You are strongly advised to become a member of EMDR association UK. This can be done via the website at http://www.emdrassociation.org.uk
Registration begins at 8.30am. Training commences at 9am and will finish at approximately 5pm each day.
Completion of Levels One and Two Training equates to 10 hours supervision that may be used towards gaining Accreditation as an EMDR Practitioner.
Currently the training is being delivered via Zoom in line with government advice however, this is subject to change.
Face to face training has in the past been hosted at Neurosupport / The Brain Charity, Norton Street, Liverpool, L3 8LR

Lunch and refreshment are included daily within the training cost. If you have any specific dietary requirements, please state this on your application form.
The special offer for both Training Levels, inclusive of the free Consultation/Clinical Supervision Day is £1350 if paid for together in full up to one month prior to the first training day.

Payment for training can be made using cheque or postal order. Both should be made out to Mersey Psychotherapies. This should be posted with your completed application form. A discount has been arranged for early payment of both training levels.
We are also able to take BACS payment – please contact Mersey Psychotherapies for relevant details.
Payment via invoice to a funding body requires a letter from your funding body promising to pay your fees prior to the training and a supporting signature from your Line Manager. If this is a finance department you must also obtain the purchase order number and correct billing name and address.
All payments must be made and have cleared a minimum of one month prior to the training dates. With this in mind, it may be a more feasible option for you to pay for your training and apply for your fees back from your employer. Once we have received your payment, we will send you an email confirming your place on the programme so be sure to provide your email address on your application form.
Please not if payment form a funding body has not cleared one month before commencement of the training, then the applicant will be liable for payment and attendance on the training day may be affected.
